Tulum
It rained as we traveled in two big SUV's from Playa del Carmen to Tulum. Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayans. The ruins are located on the east coast {Caribbean Sea} of the Yucatan Peninsula. It was amazing to see this city that is walled in and rests right above the tropical sea. I was so eager to see the ocean, as if I was living in the middle of America. The color of the water is so different than the Pacific Ocean, as you can see in the pictures. Our amazing hosts from Mayakoba invited a photographer by the name of Cesar Russ to join us on our tour. Check out his work and if your in Chicago visit his gallery. The way Tulum sits cliff side against the water felt cinematic. Truly a beautiful setting. That got me thinking, how fun it would be to do an editorial shoot at Tulum. The textures of the limestone and the wildlife that surrounds it would be great to work with. Lucky for us the rain stopped once we arrived and started back up as we departed. More photos to come. Happy Sunday.
